The Fabius-Pompey Education Foundation works to directly enhance the academic opportunities offered to students in the Fabius-Pompey School District through financial support of education activities, as prioritized by students and faculty.
What Is A Foundation?
An education foundation is a not-for-profit organization that seeks support for educational activities that are not supported by the general budget. The foundation is independent of the school district, however, works in collaboration with teachers, students, and administration. Our Foundation raises funds through appeals to alumni, annual fund raising events, grant writing, and the donations of individuals. It is our intention to raise the bulk of our funds from outside the district. The Foundation has Federal tax exempt status under 501 © 3 and is a not-for-profit corporation in the State of New York.
The Fabius-Pompey School District
From the Fabius-Pompey School District Website: The Fabius-Pompey Central School District is located in central New York, just 25 minutes southeast of the City of Syracuse. Residents of this area enjoy all the desirable aspects of rural living yet have easy access to the many cultural and shopping advantages of a large metropolitan center. While many residents are engaged in agricultural occupations, the District also serves as a residential community for many who commute to Syracuse for more urban occupational interests. There is continuing growth in new homes within the School District.
The central location of the Fabius-Pompey Central School District provides a proximity to several institutions of higher learning including Syracuse University, Colgate University, LeMoyne College, Auburn Community College, Onondaga Community College, and the State University Colleges at Cortland and Oswego.
Our District serves approximately 850 students with recently renovated and expanded facilities. Our Elementary School features a new learning center, library, new music rooms, and renovations to all of our K-5 classrooms. At our Middle School-High School complex, new science laboratories, a state of the art 740-seat auditorium, a new Middle School gymnasium, and a redesigned library are the centerpieces of our 6-12 building.
The community provides an extensive number of youth activities through the Fabius-Pompey Recreation Association. Additionally, Highland Forest and Pratts Falls County Parks are located in the district, as well as Toggenburg Ski area. Exceptional golfing facilities are available at Delphi Falls and The Pompey Club.
